I live in virden my son lives in Staunton John giller he raves about the gf pizza he surprised me today 8/31 2025 with his fav gf pizza I have to agree it's the best I've ever had and even with the traveling he had that crust was so deliciously crispy all fresh ingredients it's a must try in other words it's worth the drive from Springfield to staunton absolutely delicious.Nora Daniels virden IL
Mmm oh mercy that was wonderful, gluten free crust Alfredo sauce chicken and a wide variety of veggies 😋 absolutely flawless pizza, whoever made that is a true culinary artist, I definitely would like a repeat of that experience in the future, thanks for a fantastic experience 🙂

Great pizza- fresh items on the salad bar. DIL enjoyed her turkey sandwich. She remarked the bun was toasted and the meat was warm. Waitress checked often to see if our drinks needed refreshed. Grandson had the small cheese pizza and he devoured it- monumental as he barely eats enough to keep a bird alive. Said it was really good!
My family and I absolutely love Cavataios! I have moved out of state, but always have to eat here when I come to visit.

I ordered a medium pepperoni pizza and a small cheese pizza, and both were absolutely amazing. The flavors were spot on, and the crust had the perfect balance of crispiness and chewiness. The customer service was outstanding—fast, efficient, and very friendly. The owner was awesome and made sure everything was just right. I highly recommend this place for anyone craving delicious pizza and top-notch service. Five stars!
This gem had great atmosphere, clean, and friendly folks. Fast service, even when busy! Great pasta, sandwiches and pizza. My glitch was addressed quickly and they even offered to send a sandwich along. Great salad bar with soup! I would put this on my A list, as attitude is wonderful here and sets the tone for a great experience.
One of the best Italian restaurants around and their Pizza is phenomenal
Un ristorante a gestione italiana dove vale la pena fermarsi soprattutto se state guidando sulla Route 66 e avete voglia di un posto familiare dove sentirvi a casa. Il cibo e la cura è tipica italiana ma i proprietari (Caterina e suo marito trasferiti in USA circa 40 anni fa) sono riusciti a riadattare la cucina allo stile americano per assecondare il gusto di tutti. Un esercizio decisamente riuscito vista la qualità delle pietanze servite e la quantità di persone locali che affollavano il ristorante (era pieno a pranzo ed era venerdì). Caterina e la sua famiglia sono riusciti a portare lo spirito della cucina italiana dall'altra parte del mondo, riadattandola all'esigenza ma ferme le caratteristiche base della nostra tradizione culinaria, un esempio di storia imprenditoriale di successo che non può che rendere orgogliosi noi italiani! There is really nothing super fancy about the salad bar but it is just so good that it makes me want to dine in there just for salad. The owners are super amazing people. During covid they made sure all of the area kids had lunch and they made the news. Their pizzas are pretty terrific as well as the service.
So good, it's been a long time since I have had a pizza from here, but the food was delicious, staff was sweet and I truly enjoyed myself..

One of my favorite go to restaurants for excellent food. They have a friendly staff with excellent service.
We go every Friday night. They have a great salad bar and have almost had everything on the menu and everything is amazing.

Simply said, their Chicago style pizzas are the best anywhere! The staff are friendly and efficient, and the ingredients are always fresh to the taste. For a small town venue, they do such an authentic and impressive job on every level. I highly recommend Cavataio's as the place to get your authentic Italian fix.
I was travelling from Minneapolis and found this GREAT place to eat. It was the best baked tortellini I have had. and the service was wonderful.

It is one of the better Italian places in my area, which is saying something since the area is populated with Italians. The lasagna is really tasty. The pizza is A tier. The garlic bread is a bit weak, so get the Formaggio sticks instead.
EXCELLENT PIZZA!! This has got to be the best pizza I’ve ever had! I can’t wait to try the other food 🤤🤤🤤
